Ruth Vosmek

Ruth Vosmek, DSW, MSW, LCSW was born in Wisconsin and grew up in a family of medical missionaries (doctor and nurse) that travelled around the globe including Ethiopia, Honduras, and Thailand. This imbued as sense of community and service at a young age. Ruth has worked as a Medical and Psychiatric Social Worker for over 30 years in rural and urban areas. She has worked in Hospitals, Home Health, Nephrology, Rehabilitation, and Senior PHP. She has worked in Marin County for over 20 years, as Social Work Manager then Coordination of Care Service Director in Kaiser for the past 5 years. Ruth has her master’s degree in Social Welfare from UC Berkeley, her Doctorate (2024) from USC, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Ruth has studied the 13 Grand Challenges of Social Work, and her doctoral work centered around the Social Determinants of Care and Work Equity for Low Wage Healthcare Workers. Ruth has a passion for patient advocacy and community collaboration. 


Ruth is happily married for nearly 30+ years. When not at work you can find Ruth in her swimming pool or hiking with four adult children and two dog friends.
